Girl Scouts 100th Year Anniversary

Yesterday, Erin and her friend Sofia went to the 100th Anniversary Celebration for Girl Scouts.  They got a cool set of glow sticks and a patch for their uniforms.  Erin really likes getting new patches and loves to wear her Daisy vest!  She even wore it to church for Girl Scout Sunday and got to do the announcements on the microphone.

The event was hosted the the Cypress Trails service unit that oversees the entire Cypress area.  There were girls of all ages that participated, which was really great for the girls to see.  The Girl Scout honored their founder and even got in touch with another Troop from Pennsylvania to share this special anniversary.  Everyone formed a large promise circle and recited the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Finally, it was time to light the candles on the cupcakes.  Both Sofia and Erin were very excited about this part!  The organizer selected one girl to represent each age group to blow out the candles.  Erin got selected to be the Daisy representative.  She was super happy!

The event was a lot of fun for everyone and the girls enjoyed their tasty snack (mostly the icing)!

Two very happy Girl Scouts
