Fire Station Visit

Erin's troop visited the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire House on Sunday.  The girls enjoyed an instructional presentation on fire safety, the fire men's equipment and what to do in case of an emergency.  They let the girls try on some of the gear.  The girls all wrinkled their noses at the smell of smoke that came from the fire men's coat.  Erin was so proud to try on the coat and hat - she looked so cute!!!

The troop also got to tour the fire station.  The men explained what all of the tools on the trucks were for.  They also let the girls sit in the back of the fire truck and see the rear cameras.

The girls went outside next to see one of the fire men's smaller trucks that are used to fight grass fires.  It was used most recently during the real bad wild fires we had in the fall.  They battled the blaze for 15 hours with teams taking shifts.  That is amazing!

The firefighters hooked up the the hose to the back of the smaller truck and let each of the girls shoot the hose. Check out Erin in action!
