Erin's troop visited the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire House on Sunday. The girls enjoyed an instructional presentation on fire safety, the fire men's equipment and what to do in case of an emergency. They let the girls try on some of the gear. The girls all wrinkled their noses at the smell of smoke that came from the fire men's coat. Erin was so proud to try on the coat and hat - she looked so cute!!!
The troop also got to tour the fire station. The men explained what all of the tools on the trucks were for. They also let the girls sit in the back of the fire truck and see the rear cameras.
The girls went outside next to see one of the fire men's smaller trucks that are used to fight grass fires. It was used most recently during the real bad wild fires we had in the fall. They battled the blaze for 15 hours with teams taking shifts. That is amazing!
The firefighters hooked up the the hose to the back of the smaller truck and let each of the girls shoot the hose. Check out Erin in action!

Girl Scouts 100th Year Anniversary
Yesterday, Erin and her friend Sofia went to the 100th Anniversary Celebration for Girl Scouts. They got a cool set of glow sticks and a patch for their uniforms. Erin really likes getting new patches and loves to wear her Daisy vest! She even wore it to church for Girl Scout Sunday and got to do the announcements on the microphone.
The event was hosted the the Cypress Trails service unit that oversees the entire Cypress area. There were girls of all ages that participated, which was really great for the girls to see. The Girl Scout honored their founder and even got in touch with another Troop from Pennsylvania to share this special anniversary. Everyone formed a large promise circle and recited the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
Finally, it was time to light the candles on the cupcakes. Both Sofia and Erin were very excited about this part! The organizer selected one girl to represent each age group to blow out the candles. Erin got selected to be the Daisy representative. She was super happy!
The event was a lot of fun for everyone and the girls enjoyed their tasty snack (mostly the icing)!

Warner Field Day
Erin participated in her very first field day on Wednesday. Her school assigned colored shirts to each class which made is super easy to find Erin and her teacher. A very big plus when you consider that 230 Kindergartners attend Warner Elementary and that the playground was packed with parents.
Erin and her buddy found Randy and me before we even had a chance to look for them. We then went looking for her buddy's Mom. Erin and her buddy took turns picking the station that they wanted to try. The girls had an amazing time in spite of the wind. Check Erin out in action!

Lost Tooth! :)
My adorable little princess finally lost her one of her top teeth. This is her 3rd tooth that she has lost, but getting money from the tooth fairy never seems to get old. Her tooth was wobbly for about 2 months and seemed to take for ever to come out!
Randy and Erin were at home after school enjoying afternoon snack time. They sent me a text while I was working out at the gym. Imagine my surprise when I saw Erin holding her tooth in the picture. When I got home, we put her tooth in a red treasure chest and she wrote the Tooth Fairy and adorable letter: "Hi Tooth Fairy, It's me Erin. I lost my tooth. Love, Erin".
She flew through her night time routine... Dinner was a breeze, bath time went off without a hitch play time was super fun. When it came time for bed, the climbed the stairs 2 at a time and was out like a light in 5 minutes! She's so cute!
